Every year since 2005, Archangel has organized and hosted a multi-day Forum dedicated to the maritime heritage of the Archangel Region. The purpose of the Forum is to promote the civilian and naval maritime opportunities that are available to young people in Russia. Participants include regional and city officials, maritime companies, Russian Navy officials, educational
institutions, museums, students and veterans organizations.
This year, the Forum will focus on the World War II Arctic Convoys as Archangel commemorates the 80th anniversary of the arrival of the first allied Arctic Convoy DERVISH into the port of
Archangel on August 31, 1941.
